Wesley Urban Ministries

The Wesley Urban Ministries reaches out to the needy in the inner city of Hamilton as it has done for over 30 years. It is one of the United Church’s largest, most diverse urban ministries with six locations in all in downtown Hamilton. They assist those with basic needs and help people get back on their feet to live independently. St Paul’s United Church is a strong supporter of funding for Wesley’s programs which provide meals, shelter, clothing and toiletries.

In June volunteers from St Paul’s travel to the Wesley Centre in Hamilton to offer a meal from St Paul’s donations as well as participate in worship. Preparation and service is at their facility in Hamilton. We need about 30 volunteers (minimum age 14) to continue this outreach.

Wesley also runs a no charge Christmas store, which St Paul’s has been able to support by donating gifts and grocery items as well as volunteering to staff the store. Garage sales and other appeals have raised funds for Wesley.
